The school day - 8.55 am to 3.25 pm
At Newbury Park, we warmly welcome our pupils each morning, starting at 8.45 am, when all school gates open. Senior Leaders are there to greet our families at the entrances, and every teacher joins in the playground to personally welcome and supervise the pupils as they line up for their classes.
At Newbury Park, We believe in starting each school day with a strong sense of togetherness and purpose. At 8.55 am, when the bell rings, our entire school community gathers to recite our school mantra, setting a positive tone that helps everyone feel centred and ready for the day ahead.
The school day officially starts promptly at 8.55 am and finishes at 3.25 pm for Reception and Years 1–6, amounting to a total of 32.5 hours per week. The morning nursery runs from 8.45 am to 11.45 am and the afternoon nursery operates from 12.30 pm to 3.30 pm.
To ensure a smooth start, all pupils must arrive by 8.55 am at the latest. This allows for attendance and punctuality to be recorded and ensures that all pupils are ready to begin their lessons, which start promptly at 9.00 am. For most classes, this will be a Reading Skills or Phonics lesson, providing a focused and engaging start to the day. On Monday mornings at 9.00 am, pupils will participate in a values-led assembly, which reflects and reinforces our core school values of compassion, courage, curiosity, and creativity. At the end of the week, on Friday mornings at 9.00 am, we celebrate pupils' achievements in a Celebration Assembly, where we recognise their hard work, progress, and contributions to the school community.
Important Reminder: We truly appreciate your cooperation in ensuring that all pupils arrive at school by 8.55 am at the latest. This small effort helps minimise disruptions and allows each child to fully embrace the wonderful learning opportunities that await them.

Sunrise and Sunset Clubs
