Computing At Newbury Park
Our Computing lead is Mrs. C. Alexander
At Newbury Park, we are committed to providing our pupils with a strong foundation in computing, preparing them for a digital world. Using the Rising Stars scheme, we offer a structured and engaging curriculum that covers topics such as coding, digital literacy, online safety, and problem-solving. Pupils develop the skills needed to become confident and responsible users of technology while fostering creativity and critical thinking. Through hands-on activities and projects, pupils learn to create digital solutions, gaining experience with programming, algorithms, and computational thinking. Our goal is to inspire curiosity in technology, promote safe and responsible online behaviour, and prepare pupils for the challenges of the future.

E-Safety at NPPS
Our Digital Ambassadors have been working hard to support parents in promoting online safety at home. They have created a series of e-safety information leaflets packed with tips and guidance to help you keep your child safe online.
Please take a moment to explore the resources below and stay informed about how to protect your child in the digital world. Together, we can ensure a safe and positive online experience for all our pupils.

Online Safety Day
As part of our commitment to keeping children safe in the digital world, each year group took part in an engaging Online Safety Day. Throughout the day, pupils explored different aspects of staying safe online through interactive activities, discussions, and creative tasks.
Take a look at our video to see what we got up to and discover how we can all become safer digital citizens.

Here are 5 top tips we learned for staying safe online:
-
Keep your personal information private – never share your full name, address, or school online.
-
Use strong passwords – and never share them with anyone except a trusted adult.
-
Think before you click – avoid clicking on suspicious links or pop-ups.
-
Be kind online – treat others with respect, just as you would in person.
-
Tell a trusted adult – if something online makes you feel uncomfortable or unsure.
Staying safe online is everyone’s responsibility – and we’re proud of how our pupils rose to the challenge!
